Barn Owl - MarcoPesaresi

I watched this beautiful Owl for some time quartering a field hunting for voles, eventually after some time it came within range of my lens and I wasted no time in getting some shots of this bird as it flew past, its hard not to be overwhelmed when watching a Barn Owl hunt and even more so when they fly straight over your head yet make no sound whatsoever.

This is all down to their unique feathers this predators' wings are specially adapted to allow noiseless flight, their silent flight helps them listen for the scurrying of the voles they hunt for, and also reduces their chances of being heard by the prey as they approach.
